Day 1 : Enjoy a Dhow cruise
On this day you will be picked from Moi international airport or at an agreed venue in Mombasa and transferred to The Baobab Beach Resort & Spa; on arrival, you will check in, have a brief rest as you familiarize yourself with the area. In the afternoon, you will have a Dhow sailing tour to the Island, then return to the hotel for a delicious sea food dinner and evening entertainment.
The Baobab Beach Resort & Spa is Located on the world famous Diani Beach on a 80 acres piece of land overlooking the Indian Ocean. The rooms are specifically designed for comfort and luxury, with private balcony overlooking the beach and the pool; the family rooms are large with an interconnection, well designed with modern amenities. Some of the facilities in the hotel include 3 separate Swimming pools, Quartz tennis courts, Library, Table tennis, fitness center and a Spa.
Day 2 – 3 : Snorkeling and scuba diving
On this day, you will wake up to a delicious breakfast, then set off with your snorkeling gear on a glass-bottom boat to Wasini Island; on the way our guide will show you where the waters are calm and you can try out some of your snorkeling skills; then continue with the boat ride to Wasini Island; on arrival you will tour the island, sample out some of the fresh seafood served at the local restaurant, then return to the hotel. In the afternoon you will be free to either relax by the pool or on the beach enjoying your cold drink or engage in any of the hotel’s activities.
The following day, again will set off with your diving gear on a glass-bottom boat to Kisite Marine Reserve, here you will choose to either snorkel, dive or simply relax and enjoy watching the many dolphins swimming around. Lunch will be on the Wasini Island where you will enjoy a feast of huge fresh king crabs, in the afternoon will either explore the island or relax on the beach before returning to the hotel.
Day 4: Mombasa Nature Trail
On this day after breakfast, you will head out to Bamburi nature trail; this is a rehabilitated animal sanctuary located in Mombasa. Here you will have the opportunity to watch hippos, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, water-bucks, elands, Oryx, bush pig, marsh mongoose, serval cat, bush-buck, suni and duiker. After that you will return to the lodge, where you will spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach and enjoying various water activities on offer.
Day 5 : End of the holidays
On this final morning, you will say bye to Diani beach and transfer to Mombasa; where you will spend a few hours, touring famous historic sites that include; Fort Jesus, the Mwembe Tayari open-air market, the local bazaars, handicraft carvers and the old town. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the airport to catch your return flight or to your agreed venue in Mombasa.
Mombasa is the second-largest city in Kenya, with a population of over one million people. Besides the beautiful beaches that stretch for miles along the coastline, Mombasa has a very rich cultural and historical background that is dated back in the 16th Century during the colonial times by the Portuguese, Arabs and the British; the mixture and blending of all these rich traditions makes Mombasa a fascinating cosmopolitan city. Some of the attraction in Mombasa would include visiting marine national parks, nature walks, the old town, Forty Jesus, tour of the old market, Haller Park and finally engaging in any of the water sport activities at the beach.
