This a twelve days safari holiday, exploring the best of Serengeti National Park, Lake Manyara and Ngorogoro Crater; to watch the stunning landscapes and wildlife, then flying to Zanzibar for a five days beach vacation. It’s a great itinerary for a combined wildlife and beach holiday; additional attractions would include passing by the Olduvai Gorge and a distant view of the famous Mount Kilimanjaro.
This a 12 days beach and wildlife safari holiday in northern Tanzania and Zanzibar, that starts in Arusha and ends in Dar Es Salaam; the holiday begins with a drive from Arusha, passing by Olduvai Gorge to Serengeti national reserve, Ngorongoro , Lake Manyara and then back to Arusha before flying to Zanziber for a five day beach vacation. Major activities are focused on wildlife watching, exploring the crater, lakes and the white sandy beaches at Zanzibar Isalnd; a great itinerary for wildlife and beach lovers.

On this day, you will be picked from the airport or on an agreed venue in Arusha, briefed about the safari itinerary. Then driven to Moshi where you will spend an hour or so watching Mount Kilimanjaro, after that you will be driven to Arusha Hotel; where you will spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for the safari.
Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world; it’s a dormant volcanic mountain with the highest peak Kibo; rising about 5895 m above sea level. Mount Kilimanjaro is popular destination in visited to thousands of tourists every year.
On this day after breakfast, you will be driven through the beautiful maize, coffee and banana plantations as you travel to the Masai Steppe, down to Lake Manyara Serena Lodge; it’s a beautiful Lodge located on the edge of the Lake and has a stunning view over the lake. On arrival you will have lunch and a brief rest, before having your evening game drive at Lake Manyara national park.
Lake Manyara is a small but pretty national park situated between the Rift Valley escarpment and the large sodiforous lake on the road to Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti national reserve.
On this day, you will drive north to Serengeti national reserve, on arrival; you will drive through the park watching a few wildlife down to Serengeti Serena Lodge, where you will have lunch and a brief rest before embarking on your evening game drive. Serengeti Serena Lodge is a beautiful large safari lodge located on the central areas of Serengeti, it’s nicely set on a hilltop overlooking the open plains full of wildlife.
Serengeti National Park is without a doubt one of the top wildlife national parks in Africa, it's home to thousands of wildlife that include all the ‘Big Five’, the famous wildebeest migration, hundreds of bird species and beautiful landscapes.
On this day, you will have a whole day tour; experiencing the true of Africa adventure, driving miles through the beautiful open grassland, the acacia forests, along the cliffs and ridges watching wildlife that include all the Big 5’s, hundreds of bird species, wildebeest among many others. Then return to the Lodge for a relaxed dinner around the fire and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
Note: - This day’s event can be adjusted or completely changed to suit your personal requirements, it can be adjusted by adding a midday cultural visit or with a nature walk, a morning hot air balloon flight or if it’s on the great migration period; you can change the whole day event to just track the great migration.
On this day after breakfast, you will leave the hotel with a packed picnic lunch, drive southwest to Ngorongoro national reserve, on arrival; you will have a game drive through the park watching more wildlife and the beautiful landscapes at Ngorongoro, then have a bush picnic lunch and a brief rest. Then continue with the drive through the park to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge; where you will spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying various spa treatments and hotel amenities on offer.
Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is a beautiful large lodge located on the rim of the Crater and has stunning view of the Crater.
On this day after breakfast, you will start with a nature walk descending into the renowned Ngorongoro Crater, passing through the forest, swamps, open grassland, the sandy dunes, down to the Crater Lake full of birds and surrounded by wildlife. On the way back, you will extend the walk to the famous Masai Villages; this are the homes for the famous Masai people, they are well known for their fascinating culture and traditions, you can easily spot them grazing their cattle at the crater unshaken by the presence of the wild animals.
Ngorogoro Crater is an impressive geological feature created by a collapsed volcano, leaving a huge bowl-like landscape; it has one of the best world geographical scenery, thousands of animals and birds species.
On this day, you will have a small morning game drive and then drive back to Arusha, where you will have lunch and a brief rest at Arusha Hotel, before being driven to the Airport for your evening flight to Zanzibar Island.
On arrival, you will be received by our representative who will transfer you to Zanzibar Serena Inn, where you will spend the rest of the evening admiring the stunning sea view from your private balcony.
Zanzibar Serena Inn is a luxury beach hotel located in Stonetown on the west coast of Zanzibar Island; it’s a large hotel with top end hotel amenities, situated on a quiet shady square and once inside it provides an oasis of calm, a great place to relax after long days on safari.
This day will be left free to relax in your quiet secluded lounge or in the massage parlor or involve yourself in various water activities at the island which includes windsurfing, water-skiing, scuba-diving, dhow sailing among others beach activities.
After a delicious breakfast, we start our tour by driving to the house of wonder (once known as the tallest building), then to Sultan’s Palace, then to the Old Indian dispensary, Livingstone house, continue to the old market for exotic fruits and vegetables, down to the Anglican church (the site was once used for slave trade), to the state house, Museum and so on.
In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to see different types of locally grown spices and understand their history; this includes the famous Cloves, Cinnamon, Black Pepper, Nutmeg, Turmeric root and many more. Then return to the hotel and enjoy dinner and relax by the pool side.
At around 9am, will take a boat ride to the prison island, it’s more of relaxation excursion that takes half day on the beautiful island; after the construction of the prison it was never used for its purpose and instead it was used for slave trade in the region. The island offers a stunning view of the Town especially during the night, very beautiful sandy beaches with crystal clear waters, coral reefs surrounding the island and it is also a home to giant tortoise.
Return to the hotel, spend the rest of the day relaxing, walking, and swimming at the beach or enjoy other water activities.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, drive to Jozani Forest; it’s located approximately 35 km southeast of Zanzibar town in the southern region. It is the only remaining natural vegetation forest in Zanzibar and it contains about 100 different species of trees in a total of 43 families.
you will have a 3 hours guided tour in the Forest, familiarizing yourself with different endemic species of fauna and flora, the red Columbus monkey, velvet cats, variety of small trees, shrubs, swamps, grasses, prawns, and different species of mangroves.
Return to the hotel, spend the rest of the day relaxing, walking, and swimming at the beach or enjoy other water activities.
Enjoy your last outdoor breakfast at the beach, and a brief walk by the fine sandy beach and then return to the hotel, check out and then transfer to Dar es Salaam airport for the return flight.
