On this day, you will be picked from Entebbe airport or on an agreed venue in Kampala, briefed about the safari itinerary and then transferred to Kampala Serena Hotel; on arrival, you will check in, have lunch and a brief rest before going on either an afternoon Kampala city tour or Lake Victoria tour.
Kampala is the capital city of Uganda, located south-central part of the country and 10 Km north of Lake Victoria; the world’s second largest fresh water lake and the source of the longest river in the world (River Nile). Kampala is a typical modern African city; with the high-rise buildings, major government offices, bustling streets, nice hotels and restaurants, major hospitals, museums and other historical, cultural and traditional attractions.
On this day after break, you will be driven west to Lake Mburo national park, on arrival you will check in at Mihingo Lodge. In the evening you will have a game drive through the park and around the Lake, then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest park in Uganda, located about 230Km west of Kampala and 30Km east of Mbarara. The park consist of a Lake (Lake Mburo) which is part of the five lakes that form the 50km long wetland system that are linked by a swamp and attracts on 350 bird species, the open savannah grassland, woodland forest and vegetation. The park is also home to zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, oribis, defassa waterbuck, leopards, hippos, hyenas, topi and reedbucks.
On this day after breakfast, you will start with a game drive to watch wildlife, then have an afternoon boat tour of Lake Mburo and wind up with an easy nature walk.
On this day after breakfast, you will drive further west, passing through the beautiful landscapes to Queen Elizabeth National park; on arrival you will be transferred to Katara Lodge, where you will have lunch and a brief rest before embarking on an evening game drive to watch wildlife that include warthogs, buffaloes, water-bucks and elephants. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the major national parks in Uganda and is popular in chimps tracking, birds watching among other wildlife.
The following day after breakfast, you will have a morning game drive, taking different route to trace more wildlife, then head to Kazinga channel for a boat ride to watch hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and more bird species; after that, return to the lodge for lunch and a brief rest. In the afternoon, you will leave the lodge, drive further south to Bwindi Forest National Park; on arrival, you will be transferred to Mahogany Springs, where you will spend the rest of the day relaxing and admiring the beautiful landscapes.
Note: For guests, who are into trekking primates, this day's event can be re-arranged; visit Kyambura Wildlife Reserve for a guided primate nature walk. Kyambura is a beautiful gorge completely covered with tropical rainforest and is home to chimpanzees and other primates.
On this day, you will leave the hotel with a packed picnic lunch, drive through the protected areas of Lake Mburo national park, the Equator, down to the capital city. On arrival you will be driven to Kampala Serena hotel to freshen up and have a brief rest before your evening flight.
Note: this is approx 7 hours’ drive, the long drive could be supplemented with a scheduled or chartered flight from Queen Elizabeth national park to Kampala.
