This a one days tour of Arusha national park, driving from either Arusha or Moshi town; where you will have a half day guided nature walk through the beautiful hills, waterfalls, forests and rivers. Then you will have a picnic lunch before embarking an afternoon game drive to Ngurdoto Crater and Momela Lakes to more birds and wildlife. Major attractions include watching thousands of wildlife, viewing Mount Meru, the famous Mount Kilimanjaro, bird watching among many other attractions in Arusha.
What’s included in the Itinerary?
On this day, you will be picked from an agreed venue in Arusha or Moshi town, briefed about the safari itinerary and then driven to Arusha National park.
On arrival you will check in, then drive near the Miombo forest, where you will begin the half day nature walk; the walk will take you through the beautiful waterfalls, rivers, hills and valleys down to Mommela lakes, where you will spend some time watching different birds’ species.
In the afternoon, you will be picked and driven to Ngurdoto Crater (locally known as small Ngorongoro), where you will spend some time admiring the stunning views of Mount Meru and a distance view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Then you will continue with the game drive, watching more wildlife, before driving back to Arusha or Moshi town.
Arusha national park is the closest National Park to Arusha Town; it is just 35Km north east of Arusha town and 60Km west of Kilimanjaro International Airport. The parks ecosystem consists of various spectacular landscapes that include the shallow alkaline Momella lakes, the Tropical montane forest and glassland, the Meru and Ngurdoto craters.
Major wildlife includes; the black and white colobus monkeys, zebras, African buffalos, elephants, hippos, giraffe, warthogs, antelopes, zebras among many others.
