This is a 11 days group holiday safari in Kenya that includes; a Nairobi city excursion, wildlife safari tour at Samburu National Reserve, birds watching tour at Lake Naivasha and finally ending up with a three days tour of the famous Masai Mara to watch the Big five, wildebeest migration and among other wildlife.
This a 11 days Kenyan group safari holiday; that starts and ends in Nairobi, taking you through major wildlife conservancies and tourist attractions in Nairobi, followed by a relaxed wildlife and bird watching safari in Samburu, Lake Naivasha and the famous Masai Mara. On this trip you can be sure your family will enjoy watching all the ‘Big Five, hundreds of bird species, stunning landscapes and thousands of other lesser wildlife.

On this day you will be picked from the airport and driven to Sentrim 680 Hotel or Sentrim Boulevard, where you will spend the rest of the day relaxing either in the rooms, by the swimming pool or in any of the hotel’s facilities. Both this hotels are located within the city center, just a walking distance to major attraction and government offices within Nairobi city. The hotels offer a wide selection of holiday facilities; from the private balconies overlooking the well made gardens, nice restaurants and bars, fitness center, swimming pool and spa, entertainment center and a playing area for kids.
After breakfast will start by visiting the snake park museum; here you will be able to see different kind of snakes; then proceed to Nairobi animal Orphanage, where you will see how young orphan animals are taken care off and how they behave, this could be a good time for the kids to learn something. We will then drive to Carnival restaurant for lunch and a brief rest.
After that will proceed to the Giraffe center, where the Rothschild giraffe lives, here the kids can get on an elevated platform to view and feed the giraffes, learn more about the animals and tour other parts of the museum.
On this day after breakfast, you will be driven through the former central province to Samburu National reserve, on arrival you will be transferred to Samburu Intrepids Lodge where you will check in, have lunch and a brief rest before embarking on an afternoon game drive. Samburu national park is one of those less populated parks making it easy to spot animals at a close range; here you are likely to encounters animals like elephant, leopard, lions, crocodiles, giraffes and many more.
Samburu Intrepids Tented Camp is strategically located on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River and from the raised terraces you can easily spot wild animals drinking water. The camp has 28 luxury tents all with a private view of the river and enough space for the kids to play. The Camp has a Young rangers club that will keep your kids busy exploring and learning new things while you enjoy a romantic bush dinner under the stars. Other activities include game drives, Camel riding and a guided walking safari.
You will spend the following two days, on morning and evening game drives to watch wildlife, midday nature walks along Uaso Nyiro River, adventure activities and cultural interaction visit to the local villages. Samburu is also home to the unique 'Samburu special five', this are animals that can only be spotted in Samburu and northern parts of the equator; they include the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx.
After breakfast you will leave the hotel with a packed lunch, drive through the beautiful coffee and tea plantations in central kenya, down to Nyahururu where you will have a brief lunch break as you enjoy the stunning view of Thompson Falls, then proceed to Lake Naivasha Country Club in Naivasha. Here you will spend the two days relaxing and enjoying the beautiful lake view, boat riding at Lake Naivasha , birds watching, playing golf and horse riding.
Lake Naivasha Country Club is a beautiful club hotel located on the shores of Lake Naivasha, it's an old 1930s colonial home that was refurbished and converted to a Country Club; it’s a great place for sport and leisure travelers; it’s an ideal destination for golf sporting trips , business meetings, team building, conferences and leisure holidays or stopover on a safari to Hell’s Gate, Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru among other attraction along the Great Rift Valley.
After breakfast, enjoy a 3 hours drive to the famous Masai Mara, on arrival drive to Mara Sopa Lodge for lunch and a brief rest, in the afternoon go for a game drive. Masai Mara is well known for the great wildebeest migration across the savannah, animals migrate from Serengeti national park in Tanzania to Masai Mara in search of new grazing land, this cycle happens every year between July/August and October/November; the great part of the cycle is when the wildebeest are crossing the Mara river where the Lions, cheetah, Jackal, Hyenas and Crocodiles wait on one side for the prey and millions of wildebeest wait on the other side for the right time to cross, this creates a lifetime opportunity for photographers and something new for the kids to learn about.
The following day, you will have an early morning game drive (animals are usually out early in search of food before the temperatures gets hot), then return to the lodge for a brunch meal (breakfast/lunch) and a brief rest before returning on the game drive that extend to the Masai Villages, here the Masai people will teach you about their culture and way of living, entertain you with their traditional songs, and also engage you with some activities like spear throwing, milking cows and goats using the traditional methods, taking photographs of the Masai with their bright red costumes, sword and clubs.
On day 10, you will have a morning and evening game drive, taking a different direction to watch more wildlife, enjoy the serine and stunning view of the open plains rounded by the mara hills and slopes.
After breakfast, you will be driven back to Nairobi, on the way will have an optional stop to purchase gifts and decorations. Once we are in Nairobi depending with your flight details we may have time for lunch (not included) then be transferred to the airport for your international flight.
NB: - this holiday itinerary can be extended with a few days sunbathing at the Coast, either in Mombasa, Malindi, Lamu or Zanzibar. There are plenty of water activities and entertainment to enjoy while taking in the hot African sun.
