This a 6 days wildlife and bird watching family holiday, that takes you to David Sheldrick Elephant orphanage in Nairobi. Then to Lake Nakuru national park, the home to millions of pink flamingos and other bird species. Then continue to Lake Naivasha, where your kids can go for a guided treasure hunt or a boat ride as you enjoy a game of golf. Finally drive through the beautiful plains of the famous Masai Mara, here you will have the opportunity to watch thousands of wildlife and also have a culture tour to Masai Villages.
This a 6 days Kenyan family Safari holiday; that starts and ends in Nairobi, taking you through major wildlife conservancies and tourist attractions in Nairobi, followed by a wildlife and bird watching trip at Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and the famous Masai Mara. On this trip you can be sure to watch all the ‘Big Five, hundreds of bird species, stunning landscapes and thousands of other lesser wildlife.

On this day you will be picked from the airport or your agreed place and driven to The Boma Hotel; in the afternoon visit David Sheldrick Elephant orphanage, here you will have a view of how young orphan elephants are taken care off and their behavior; then visit the Giraffe Center where the Rothschild giraffe lives, here the kids can get on an elevated platform to view and feed the giraffes.
David Sheldricks Elephant Orphanage and the Giraffe center are conservation projects and wildlife trust where people get to view animals at a closer proximity and learn about them; they take young orphan elephants, giraffe and rhinos, take care of them until they are enough then released back to the national parks.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National park, on arrival have a small game drive to the lake then head to Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge for lunch and a brief rest, in the evening embark on a game drive down to the Rhino sanctuary. The water levels and the alkaline concentration makes the lake home to millions of pink flamingos and other bird species; other major attractions includes the white and black Rhinos, Buffaloes, Monkeys, giraffes, Antelopes and warthogs. Later drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
On this day, you will take an early breakfast then drive to the Great Rift Valley Lodge in Naivasha; on arrival you will check in, have a brief rest then prepare for a family boat ride, while on a boat ride you will be able to see large hippos, monkeys, birds and different kinds of fish. In the afternoon you will have an option of either tour the area, play golf or just relax and enjoy various Spa treatments and amenities on offer.
Great Rift Valley Lodge is located above the Rift Valley and from the well set private balconies you can get a good view of the Lake, the volcanic mountains and the Rift Valley. They also have a Young rangers club that keeps the kids busy treasure hunting, swimming, and painting.
After breakfast, enjoy a 3 hours drive to the famous Masai Mara, on arrival drive to Mara Intrepids for lunch and a brief rest, in the afternoon go for a game drive. Masai Mara is well known for the great wildebeest migration across the savannah, animals migrate from Serengeti national park in Tanzania to Masai Mara in search of new grazing land, this cycle happens every year between July/August and October/November; the great part of the cycle is when the wildebeest are crossing the Mara river where the Lions, cheetah, Jackal, Hyenas and Crocodiles wait on one side for the prey and millions of wildebeest wait on the other side for the right time to cross, this creates a lifetime opportunity for photographers and something new for the kids to learn about.
The following day take an early morning game drive (animals are usually out early in search of food before the temperatures gets hot), then return to the lodge for a brunch meal (breakfast/lunch) and a brief rest before returning on the game drive that extend to the Masai Villages, here the Masai people will teach us about their culture and way of living, entertain us with their traditional songs, engage us with some activities like spear throwing, milking cows and goats using the traditional methods, taking photographs of the Masai with their bright red costumes, sword and clubs.
On this day will have an early morning game drive then return to the camp for breakfast and a brief rest before driving back to Nairobi, on our way will have an optional stop to purchase gifts and decorations. Once we are in Nairobi depending with your flight details we may have time for dinner (not included) then be transferred to the airport for your international flight.
NB: - this holiday itinerary can be extended with a few days sunbathing at the Coast, either in Mombasa, Malindi, Lamu or Zanzibar. There are plenty of water activities for the kids and parents while you enjoy the hot African sun.
