Kibo Safari Camp is a nice and very simple African style safari camp; it is strategically set on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro and just next to Amboseli national park at Kimana gate. It is well surrounded by beautiful landscapes, wildlife and natural forest that blend nicely with the camp to give a nice feeling of nature.

Kibo Safari Camp is conveniently located on a central area where you can enjoy watching wildlife with a background of the famous Mount Kilimanjaro; it’s a simple but very stylish camp designed with high thatched roof, wooden logs, large open window with a view of the mountain and is nicely decorated with African artifacts.
Accommodation is in 73 spacious tents that are nicely furnished with locally custom made single/double/triple beds, a mosquito net, own bathroom, a dressing area, a lounge area and a small veranda.
Meals at Kibo Safari Camp are prepared from locally fresh organic products and spices; the menu combines African and western cuisines. The meals are served at the main restaurant/dining area or on a private nicely set candle lite bush table (on request). For the guest who wants to spend the whole day on safari, the chefs prepare special picnic lunch for them.
Additional hotel facilities at Kibo Safari Camp includes a swimming pool, a lobby and main lounge area, a restaurant and dining areas, a bar, a conference room, a gift shop, a massage parlor, bonfire area, family and special honeymoon rooms. Additional services include laundry and baby-sitting services.
Activities would include early morning peak viewing of Mount Kilimanjaro, morning and evening game drives, guided safari and nature walks, bird watching trips, bush breakfast and sun-downer candle lit dinner, cultural visit to the neighboring Masai community, swimming, enjoying various Spa treatments or just relax and enjoy the stunning views from the camp while reading your favorite book. In the evening you can gather at the bonfire area with your favorite drink and get entertained by the Masai morans with their traditional dances.
The best and easiest way to get to Kibo Safari Camp is flying to Amboseli airstrip, then a few minutes’ drive to the Camp, there are chartered flights from Nairobi and Mombasa. By road is approximately 3 hours’ drive from Nairobi and 3½ hours’ from Mombasa.
Other attractions near Kibo Safari Camp would include going on a safari to the neighboring Tsavo East and Tsavo west national park and Chyulu Hills. If time permits, you can extend your drive to Mombasa or Diani for a day or two on the beach.
Kibo Safari Camp is located in the middle of a very remote area; there are no modern shops or market places nearby; so it’s advised to buy all your essential items in major towns before traveling to Kibo Safari Camp.
