Che Shale is a superb beach lodge set on a 5km bay of white sand in Malindi; it’s a glorious hideaway surrounded by palm trees and un-spoilt white sandy beaches; the Bandas are nicely designed and decorated entirely from local materials, with nicely woven floor mats and thatched roofs.
Che Shale offers two styles of accommodation, Deluxe and Standard bandas; the 7 small cottages are nicely designed with thatched roof, woven palm floor mats and fitted with carefully crafted wood furniture.
The chefs at Che Shale are well experienced in preparing various African, western and Asian dishes; the meals are served at the main dining area/restaurant, garden area, verandah and on a special occasion you can have a well set beach front candle lite dinner or breakfast.
Besides the beautiful and spacious accommodation at Che Shale lodge; it also has a long private beach area, a large thatched roof bar/lounge/restaurant area set on the beach, a massage hut, a souvenir shop, laundry area and kite-surfing center.
Che Shale is famously known for Kite-surfing, they have a kite-surfing school and an excellent area for kite-surfing; other activities, including diving, wake-boarding, deep-sea game fishing, beach walks and dhow trips to the neighboring islands, villages and snorkeling spots.
Che Shale lodge is situated north of Malindi; by road its 30 minutes’ drive to Malindi airport, two and half hours from Mombasa and 6 hours from Nairobi. There are daily scheduled flights from Nairobi and Mombasa.
