Kizingo Lodge is a wonderful secluded beach home situated on a stunning 12Km long beach south of Lamu island; it is a small intimate lodge that is both Eco-friendly and very comfortable. Kizingo Lodge is a small family run Eco-friendly Lodge located south of Lamu; it’s a very intimate and pleasant beach lodge with the Swahili traditional architectural design and interior decoration. The house is set on a spacious, quiet and friendly atmosphere overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Accommodation is in 8 spacious thatched-roof chalets/Bandas, each is nicely furnished with a king size bed, own bathroom and dressing area, open private shaded balcony/Veranda overlooking the Ocean, a lounge area, mosquito net, ceiling fun and standby battler.
Meals at Kizingo Lodge are well planned and prepared from fresh local product that include exotic fruits, vegetables, exquisite sea food, African and international cuisines; the meals are usually served at the main dining area or on your private secluded verandah.
Some of the hotel facilities at Kizingo Lodge include a beach swimming area, a bar, lounge areas and a private veranda, dining area and a massage area.
Activities would include snorkeling, swimming, water-skiing, kayaking, dhow sailing and sunset cruise, Barracuda fishing, deep sea game fishing, crab-catching excursions and bird watching walks.
The simplest way to get to Kizingo Lodge; is fly to Manda Island airstrip then take a boat ride to the lodge, there are daily scheduled flights from Nairobi Wilson airport, Mombasa Moi international airport and Malindi airport.
Other attractions near Kizingo Lodge includes; visiting nearby marine national parks, city excursion to major museums, zoos, historical sites, mosques, traditional markets in the region; Day trips to the ruined 14th century fort on Manda Island, Tours of local boat-building and mat-weaving industries and sailing trips to Kinyika Island and other islands in the area.
Kizingo Lodge is located in the middle of a very remote and secluded area; there are no modern shops or market places nearby; so it’s advisable to buy all your essential items in the major towns before traveling to Kizingo Lodge.
