Island Camp is a classic African lodge located on a small island (Ol Kokwe) at Lake Baringo, along the Great Rift Valley in Northern Kenya; Island Camp has 23 tented rooms that are spread over the island overlooking the lake and its beautiful surrounding. It’s a nice secluded and private area for small groups of friends exploring the lake, family getaway, private wedding, leisure or honeymoon .

Island Camp is one of the oldest safari camps in Kenya, perched south of Ol Kokwe Island at Lake Baringo; it’s a simple stylish camp designed with high thatched roof, wooden logs, large open window and are nicely decorated with African artifacts.
Lake Baringo is one of the two fresh water Lakes along the Great Rift Valley and is located in northern Kenya; the Lake is about 129km2 and is well known for its large number of bird species, hippos, crocodiles and fishing activities. Other attractions include the stunning views over the volcanic Tugen hills and valleys, beautiful islands and friendly people.
Accommodation is in 23 chalets that are nicely decorated and spaced for privacy with stunning views over the Lake and its surrounding. The Chalets have a king/queen size bed surrounded by a mosquito net, an en-suite bathroom, a dressing area, a lounge area and a private veranda to relax on your free time as your enjoy the stunning views.
The meals at Robert's Camp are nicely prepared from local fresh products that include fresh salads, vegetables and freshly caught fish among other African and international cuisines. The meals are served at the dining area overlooking the lake or at your private cottage (on request).
Hotel facilities at Island Camp include a swimming Pool, dining room and lounge/sitting area, bars , a spa and wellness area, a stunning family and honeymoon chalet, excursion and fishing boats, camp fire area, private wedding and conference areas. Additional services include laundry and baby-sitting services (on prearrangement).
Activities would include relaxing at the Camp and enjoying various spa treatments on offer, exploring the island, fishing trips, water skiing, island and Lake Excursions; to watch birds, crocodiles, hippos, giraffes, ostrich, warthogs, impalas, hyrax among other lesser animals around Lake Baringo. Alternatively; visit Baringo’s hot springs, cultural tour to the local Pokot or Njemps tribal villages, hiking and mountain climbing at Tugen hills.
The best and easiest way to get to Island Camp from Nairobi is via chartered flights to Lake Baringo airstrip then a short drive to the Camp. By road, it’s a 4 hour’s drive from Nairobi.
Other attractions near Island Camp includes; visiting nearby Lake Bogoria , Visit the Reptile Park and Devil's Island, Baringo town excursion to see major museums, zoos, historical sites, mosques and traditional markets in the region. Additional activities would include hiking on Tugen hills and flying excursion along major attractions on the Great Rift Valley.
Island Camp is situated on a remote and secluded area; there are no modern shops or market places nearby; so it’s advised to buy all your essential items in the major towns before traveling to Island Camp.
