Kiwayu Lodge is a very simple, secluded top class Lodge; located on Kiwayu Island, one of the many un-spoilt, idyllic islands of the Lamu Archipelago, on the Kenyan Coast. It’s a family run lodge with only 18 high thatched bandas that are nicely spaced and designed to blend in with the sand dunes, with refreshing views and a soothing environment.
Accommodation at Kiwayu Lodge is in 18 spacious Bandas; each banda has a spacious bedroom that is beautifully furnished with African Swahili antique, large open windows, a king size bed, an en suite bathroom, a dressing area, a private verandah and a daytime sunbed/hammock, a lounge area and a secure safe.
Meals at Kiwayu Lodge are well planned and prepared from fresh local products; they include exotic fruits, vegetables, exquisite sea foods among other African and international cuisines; the meal are usually served at the dining area or a nicely set garden or beach front.
Some of the hotel facilities at Kiwayu Lodge include a bar, lounge areas with veranda/garden/beach hammocks, restaurant/dining area, massage room, a gift shop and a laundry room.
Kiwayu Lodge is situated in a location that offers a huge array of beach and water sport activities; these would include canoeing, snorkeling, water skiing, doughnut rides, kite boarding, sand yachting, fishing trips, motor boat or dhow sailing excursions to other remote islands with a picnics lunch sampling your own freshly caught fish, oyster picking, treasure hunting, swimming with dolphins among other beach activities.
The best and easiest way to get to Kiwayu Lodge from Nairobi; is flying from Wilson airport to Lamu airstrip, then drive to the Lodge. By road, it would take about 8 hours’ drive from Nairobi to Lamu and 3 hours from Mombasa.

Kiwayu Lodge is located in the middle of a very remote and secluded area; there are no modern shops or market places nearby; so it’s advisable to buy all your essential items in the major towns before traveling to Kiwayu Lodge.
